Radalla
2022
Radalla – the first novel of Iida Sofia Hirvonen, blurs the boundaries of text genres. The novel developes as an uninterrupted stream of thoughts dealing with topics such as work, love, psychedelic experiences, night life, cuteness, media-mediated reality and the confusing nature of the existence.
The idea was to create a physical form for the dreamlike and glitchy writing of Hirvonen. The soft pink and lilac colors, the blooming title logotype and the gleaming graphics in the covers form an abstract scene that reminds of the first rays of the sunrise one can see after spending a long summer night with friends. The book as an object is meant to be carried around and taken in hands in a spur of a moment. The soft covers bend lightly as the reader stucks the book back to their pocket or handbag.
